Ingredients
Method
- Cut the top end off of the garlic bulb. This will expose the garlic cloves. Leave all the paper on.
- Grab a small piece of aluminum foil.
- Meanwhile, generously rub olive oil all over the garlic bulb.
- Now, wrap the foil tightly around the garlic.
- Place the foil packet on a cookie sheet or baking dish.
- Set it on the middle rack and bake for one hour at 350 degrees.
- Allow the garlic to cool.
- Release the garlic from the bulb by gently squeezing the roasted cloves out onto a clean service.
- It is now ready to use or it stores good in the fridge.
Notes
Garlic has wonderful health benefits such as anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, cardiovascular and boosts the immune system. I love keeping raw cloves (in honey) in a jar by my stove. I take one out and just eat them. So good for us.
“You’ll get the most benefit from raw garlic,” says Dietitian Laura Jeffers, MEd, RD, LD. “But if you choose to cook it, don’t heat it above 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius). Higher temperatures kill the allicin, so add garlic to your recipes when you’re almost done cooking.”
