Method
- Roll your dough out on a clean floured surface. Depending on what you will be baking your pizza in, it should be close to a 12 circle. Alternatively, you could stretch it out thinner for a rectangle shape.
- Sprinkle cornmeal on the bottom of the iron skillet. Place the dough in the skillet.
- Now, spread the olive oil evenly. Just lightly coat it on the dough.
- Now, spread the pizza sauce evenly on the dough.
- Start adding your toppings and top with freshly grated mozzarella cheese.
- Place in a 400 degree pre-heated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Notes
- If you have a thicker crust, pre-bake it in the oven for about 10 minutes. Otherwise, it will still be doughy inside. Pull it out of the oven, add your toppings and then follow the directions in the recipe for baking.
- If you want to use a rectangle pan, just roll the dough into that shape. It might be a little thinner crust or you can use extra dough if you like it thicker.
- You can use leftover chicken like I did. Adds a little more protein and flavor.
- I also like the flavors of crumbled bacon and red onion on my Hawaiian Pizza.
