I made this DIY Wall Hanging Flower Basket with just a few simple supplies. It’s perfect for summer but I’m going to leave it up year round and just change things out seasonally.

Here’s how I made it:

I used a seagrass basket with a handle on the back of it. I then found some “real like” flowers to put in it. I even clipped some of the greenery from one of the geraniums and used it as a filler. Finished it off with an American 🇺🇸 flag and a pretty red striped ribbon. Perfect for Summer! Took me less than 10 minutes to make this, and it adds so much cottage style and coziness to your porch.

Today is not about bbq’s or time at the beach. Memorial Day 🇺🇸 is about remembering the ones that fought for our country and died as a result in the wars. 🇺🇸❤️

Let us stop and remember them today. Maybe you knew one of them. My dad and uncle fought in the Vietnam War and made it out (thank you Lord) but they both have passed on later in life.

Let us give thanks and gratitude for them all! ❤️🇺🇸

It’s time for our Summer 🇺🇸 Patriotic Decor! I’m starting on our big ‘ole front porch.

It’s a new season and I love decorating the porch this time of year. Even though it’s hot hot hot here in the Summer, we love honoring all our fallen heros on 🇺🇸 ❤️Memorial Day and then celebrate our great country in 🇺🇸July!

I made the switch to raised beds (from in ground g

I made the switch to raised beds (from in ground gardening) about 5 years ago. I loved my wood beds in my garden but after 3 years, well, they fell apart. They just can’t withstand this Florida heat. We decided to re-do the entire garden. My husband, myself and kids got to work. I found these amazing steel garden beds called Birdies. Have you heard of them? They are built to last a good 20+ years and they are non-toxic. That’s huge to me!

Now, on to my top 3 reasons why I switched.

1. When you get your veggies off the ground, pests are less likely to get on what you are growing. I kid you not, I haven’t found one bug since I started planting in my new beds last September.

2. Weeds - I have only found 1 or 2 here and there in all of my beds. Now, I do have a good organic compost that I filled my new beds with. I also use an organic fertilizer but I’m not seeing any in raised beds as opposed to when I did in ground gardening.

3. My final reason why I switched to raised beds is because they are just so pretty took at. Raised beds give your garden clean lines and keeps everything uniform. The longevity is what also sold me on the Birdies. 😍
