It’s a time for pumpkins, apple pickin’ and canning, baking, hiking, bonfires and hanging out with friends and family. It’s a time to slow down before all the hustle of Christmas haha. It’s a time to soak up the outdoors. 🍁

I never thought I would want to get rid of my wood

I never thought I would want to get rid of my wood garden beds, but when they literally fell 🥴apart, I had to make a choice. I knew three years ago when we built the garden , I would have to change them out. Honestly, it’s just a hassle to redo them every few years with new wood.

Y’all, I am loving my new beds from @epicgardening. They have a 20+ year warranty and they are made from sustainable products. It was really a no-brainer. If they’re good enough for @carrieunderwood, then they’re definitely good enough for me 😂.

I bought mine on sale and got four beds for free, which is crazy. I bit the bullet, went for the gusto and bought 18. That might be a little obsessive, but our garden is 6,000 sq. ft. 😳

If you’ve had a hectic day but still want to get a loaf of bread on the table for supper, then make my French Baguette.

It’s super easy and you can have homemade nutritious bread on the table in 2 hours. I use freshly milled flour but use what you like. More or less water may be needed depending on what kind of flour you use.
.
You don’t always have to make traditional loaf of bread, which my recipe takes about six hours. If you’re wanting to tackle sourdough bread, that’s definitely something you need to plan for as that’s a two-day process. It doesn’t matter what you make, just making something homemade, rather than going to the store is better for you.

My garden is getting an overhaul and I’m so exci

My garden is getting an overhaul and I’m so excited. We are starting with a clean slate this time. Bill is going to install the irrigation and I found an awesome weed fabric that actually works.

When I got sick, I didn’t have the energy to keep up with a garden the size of mine. My pretty wood beds started falling apart, and the weeds just overtook. I didn’t have anyone to help me on a daily basis, so it just got out of hand, really quick. Some days it took all my energy just to go collect the eggs from my chickens. 🐓
.
With some detective work on my part and praying daily, I’m excited to say I’m almost back to my old self. Still healing and I plan on sharing my story with y’all soon. My body definitely needed a season of rest, but I’m ready to get back at it. I have all my seeds ready to go in my new beds once they arrive. It’s fall planting season here in the south so get ready to follow along. 😍

We finished building our farmhouse 3 years ago and we’re finally ready to start decorating some rooms 😜 that have just been sitting here. Our back sun porch is one of those rooms. Anyone else take a while to get it together 😉?

We got all the junk out that’s been collecting in here and I can’t wait to share with y’all what we’re doing in this space. We have 11 @andersen_windows and it’s one of my favorite rooms in our new “old” farmhouse. I love all the natural light.
