Who says we can’t have fall 🍁foliage 🍂 here in Florida? When we were designing our landscaping last year, I told Bill I wanted it to look like North Carolina in the Fall. Since I can’t move (I’ll discuss that another time 😝), I’m going to bring it to me 😂.

We have a bunch of trees in our front yard that are starting to turn red and yellow. I can’t believe I get to live here. I’ll show y’all a few more fall trees tomorrow.

As much as I love canning, there’s other ways to preserve food. One way is using mylar bags. Have you heard of them?

You can safely store foods for years that have less than 10% moisture. Beans are a great way to keep them fresher longer. Too much moisture can cause bacteria to grow.

Place the sealed bag in a food grade bucket with a gamma lid for safer and longer storage. Enjoy your peace of mind!

Can you believe it’s the first day of Fall? It’s the most wonderful time of the year, well, at least for me it is!

Seriously, I could live in the 🍁🍂 all year long. Here’s my tub from last year all filled up with my pumpkins. I can’t wait to go to @renningersmountdorafl on October 1st to get all of my pumpkins 🎃 and give them a bath. It’s their annual “Fall in the Field” primitive show and I’ve been going for 11 years now.

I’m blown away at all the blessings this little coop has received. I finished it with my two hands (and a little help from my daughter and friends). I literally had no idea what I was doing but with grace and grit, I got it done.

Y’all, what a day! I took my father-in-law to a doctor’s appointment today and ended up at the local farm store 😜.
.
Well, I went back to the baby chick area and was chatting with a lady about losing two of my babies. If you saw yesterday’s post, I lost two of my baby chicks I bought last Friday. I decided to get a few more to replace them and I really didn’t want to pay the high shipping price online. Plus, I love shopping local.
.
A man came over and helped me pick out my new 🐥baby chicks. I thanked him for helping me, went to go pay and the box said “replacements” on it. He must’ve heard me chatting with the lady. What a kind gesture not to charge me. They may just be chickens to some people but if you only new how blessed my little coop is.
.
I’m seriously blown away at all of the blessings I’ve received during my building of the coop and now my chicks. God has given me this land and I pray to be a good steward of all that he’s placed in my hands.

How was your weekend? It was a great weekend for u

How was your weekend? It was a great weekend for us but it was also a crappy weekend. We celebrated my son’s birthday and my soon-to-be niece’s bridal shower. Both were wonderful!
.
Friday, my pumpkin patch was attacked by army worms. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Fortunately, I was able to harvest five pumpkins prior. The rest were destroyed. Then, I woke up yesterday morning and two of my baby chicks died. I only bought four and plan on getting more. I know things happen with livestock and nature but it was still sad. I raised chickens before at our old place and lost a few here and there. They can be stressed from the move or maybe they get sick. I’m just surprised two didn’t make it. 😢
.
I choose to focus on the good. How could losing baby chicks and pumpkins be good? They’re not but I’m going to learn and do some research on how to make sure I’m doing all I can to keep the next batch of baby chicks alive. I’ll also study how to make sure the worms don’t get my pumpkins next time. I’m not going to dwell on the negative. The good Lord gave me the wisdom and energy to get this coop finished so I know he’s not going to leave me now. Stay tuned as I’ll share when the new 🐣 arrive! Happy Monday friends! ❤️
