Dolly Parton was a household name whether you list

Dolly Parton was a household name whether you listened to her music or not. We all just knew who she was. Dolly was love, laughter, kindness and so much more. She loved the Lord and is rejoicing now in the arms of Jesus. Prayers for her family and friends. 🙏🏻❤️

“I make a point to appreciate all the lIttle things in my life.
I go out and smell the air after a good, hard rain.
I re-read passages from my favorite books.
I hold the little treasures that somebody special gave me.
These small actions help remind me that there are so many great, gorlous pieces of good in the world.” ~ Dolly Parton

Monticello, VA. Have you been to visit not just our 3rd President, Thomas Jefferson but also our 4th and 5th Presidents - James Madison and James Monroe?Truly an amazing place and filled with so much history. I encourage you to take your children and grandchildren to learn all about the lives of a few of our founding fathers in our country 🇺🇸.

Let’s make a DIY “No Sew” curtain for my pantry. When we were building our home, I didn’t want lower cabinets with doors as I wanted to add some kind of curtain in here to hide all the things. If you have doors, just remove them.

I’m using cafe curtains. All I did was measure the amount that I needed to shorten the curtains. Using hem tape, I placed it in between the two sections of fabric. I then put a hot iron on top of the fabric and start pressing to allow the tape to fuse the fabric together. My curtains were already gathered at the top. I then threaded the curtain onto the tension rod and hung them up. Now, the pantry looks pretty and all the things are hidden. What do you think?

Comment “Curtain” and I’ll send you the link to everything I used.

Tucked away in the rural area of Central Virginia, you’ll find a beautiful inn called @woodvillebedbreakfast . Lynn and I were on a sister’s trip and we even had our own tea party on the porch.

This place is absolutely amazing and if you love history, the outdoors, wine - then you are going to want to stay here. There’s a few pet pigs, Marco the guard dog and the delicious farm fresh eggs are served every morning. Did I mention the owner Stephan is an amazing cook and everything he uses is organic and sources locally when in season.

Mornings were spent on the porch doing my daily read and evenings we spent watching the beautiful sunset over the mountains. We even caught fireflies zipping around.

If you love history like we do, this is the place to stay as it’s close to the Monticello wine trail along with the estates of our 3rd, 4th and 5th presidents. I can’t wait to go back!

Summer is for road tripping! I’ve spent the last two weeks traveling the Southeast and what a blast it has been. From celebrating my aunt Sandy’s 85th birthday with a bingo party in West Virginia, spending time learning about Thomas Jefferson (and our 4 & 5th presidents) in Monticello Virginia, eating amazing food, touring wineries, a beautiful bed & breakfast, visiting Amish communities, more family in North and South Carolina and so much more. Stay tuned as I share all about our trip. I’ll also be sharing over on my blog if you want to be the first to follow along. - www.littlehousesimpleliving.com

We’ve got one more month of Summer so let’s soak it all up! 🚘🌻🇺🇸

Ever since we built our farmhouse, I’ve wanted to

Ever since we built our farmhouse, I’ve wanted to hide the ugly tv in our living room haha. Well, I finally found this beautiful frame from @decotvframes . Thank you for creating these. I especially love that they are made right here in the USA 🇺🇸 . I can’t believe how pretty this frame just makes our @samsung Smart TV disappear. We don’t even watch much tv but when we aren’t, I needed it to look like a piece of art. Are you with me?

Comment “frame” and I’ll send you the link so you can make your tv look pretty too. 😍
